I, like all the other fans of Splinter Cell, wondered where Sam Fisher had gone. It turns out that he had been cooperating with the Russian band ИМПАКТ for all these years, turned into zombie and grew an extra pair of hands! hope that by the next game in the series he will come back to normal, but for now we will listen to "Военный ритуал" ("War Ritual"), which will surely positively influence the vigor of your spirit.
The thematic component of the album is as simple and direct as it can be: war. From start to finish, in every line and word. You can not find anything else here, I mean anything. Maybe only "Кровавая игра" song narrates about the war at a very local, street level. Nevertheless, the musicians had enough fantasies for 10 very diverse texts, which are not only performed in verse form, but also adjusted to changing rhythms, chanting choruses and so on. Therefore, in each song there are at least two or three memorable fragments, and this is even somewhat unexpected for the obvious underground work. However, the main reference point for the band is not so underground - late KREATOR. It's not difficult to hear it, even if you do not look at the back cover before listening, where it is reported that the tenth track on the disc is a Russian-language cover of "Death to the World" (excellently performed, by the way). Ambitious and, I will not deny, a little anxious, because late KREATOR is primarily associated with the words "gayness" and "syrup," and then with Thrash Metal. Fortunately, ИМПАКТ was primarily interested in the undeniable ability of KREATOR to build good catchy compositions. Russians could not surpass or even repeat the Germans, but they got pretty close. The band sounds recognizable, and at the same time non-standard. High speeds are very encouraging. The disadvantage is the same as that of KREATOR - sugary melodic parts. They are much smaller, but it's still not enough to ignore the problem. Who, tell me, is playing brutal songs about war with cheerful semi-Heavy riffs? You must be harder! But vocals, for example, I can only praise. The voice is very peculiar - something between the grindcore and the canonical thrash. t sounds courageous, energetic - everything you want to hear is here.
The CD is designed traditionally and accurately. No graphic frills, in addition to the cover, is not found, but in the booklet there are all the lyrics. More details on a video. The CD version differs from the digital version by the presence of two bonus tracks - the aforementioned KREATOR cover as well as the semi-Power metal piece of crap called "После боя" (After the battle). "Военный ритуал" is a strong album dedicated to all Rambos, those-who-survived-in-Afgan and military grandpas. This babd clearly deserves more attention.
