ABRASIV RUBEDO is another anonymous searchlight from Krywia, but not from those anonymous people who usually create something like this. As far as I know, ABRASIV RUBEDO has been created for quite a long time-about 8 years ago - with the aim of playing the most vicious and fast Black Metal. Due to the perfectionism of the creator of the project, the whole thing was greatly delayed. Recording of the material began in 2020, ended in 2022, and only now has he been persuaded to release the recorded album on cassette through Skon.
I can't say that ”Naležyła..." is the fastest and most vicious Black Metal. But the truth is that it mercilessly puts pressure on the listeners and does not allow them to relax for a moment. All 8 tracks are consistently intense and contain only a few meager fragments with pretensions to melody or a reduced tempo. You can notice a single guitar solo in the last track. Due to the intentionally muffled sound with the vocals pushed forward, the album at first seems rather monotonous and simplified, but in fact everything is more interesting here. To my ears, ABRASIV RUBEDO combines three approaches. The first one is really extremely simplified stripped-down Black Metal, devoid of any clear style. Something similar was played at the beginning of the 21st century by new bands around the world who did not have the opportunity to record in expensive studios and got to everything themselves. I immediately thought of DEOFEL and "Budučynja njaviečna". The second is the KRUK legacy. I do not know if HST (the author of the music) listened to the first albums of KRUK while working on ABRASIVE RUBEDO, but I often hear characteristic ”incorrect" chord progressions, transitions and vocal patterns here that could easily come out from under the hands / mouths of Ryks Asirg and Twilight One. The third is atonal violence a la LEPROUS VORTEX SUN. I specifically name the Homiel band because ABRASIV RUBEDO shares with it a special cold feeling of pure musical nihilism. In other similar bands that I know, music can have a similar form, but not a feeling.
Thus, the album consists of one standard and two very non-standard styles. It turns out to be dismal, unfriendly, and original. "Dismal" not in a negative sense; it's just the fact that "Naležyła ..." doesn't throw pearls in front of anyone. It's dim, claustrophobic, and doesn't try to impress a wide audience. It is not disgusting, like the recordings of the same LEPROUS VORTEX SUN, but only listeners who are ready to give it all due attention are allowed to touch "the body”.
The album was released on Pro-tape on Skon. All lyrics are available on J-card. Traditionally for the label, the logo was drawn by Vaiug (who, by the way, was a drummer of ABRASIV RUBEDO back in the day), and the design was made by Greek. Details on a video.
