We didn't have to wait long for the continuation, and already in 2022 YMIR offered us a second album.

"Aeons of Sorrow" differs from its predecessor primarily in that it was made by full line-up - members of TRUE BLACK DAWN, HORNA, TYRANNY, KORGONTHURUS joined the band. But it only affected the music a little bit. According to the title, "Aeons of Sorrow" is more melancholic and melodic in character than the debut - within the boundaries of the style, of course. It does not seek to throw you into a snowdrift with a blow of a mighty northern wind, but impresses first of all with majestic winter beauty. In this album (as the font on the cover hints at), you can find echoes of the old sound of bands like THY SERPENT, MOONSORROW or, excuse me, CATAMENIA – almost major keys, clear-voiced recitations, etc. This is both good and bad; the songs on the new album are better than on the debut, but I'm not sure I'm quite happy with the softening of the sound.

Anyway, in the end, "Aeons of Sorrow" is a strong piece of classic Nordic metal that is worth listening to. Fans of Werewolf Records releases will definitely not be disappointed. If there is such a record in your collection, winter is never too far away.

Aeons of Sorrow by Ymir

[20,2
57,54,64,58
post-1217","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-20","category-rev","tag-finland","tag-nordic-metal","tag-pagan-metal","tag-58","wpcat-20-id","wpcat-2-id
["GET
