SHED THE SKIN – Harrowing Faith

The debut album of the US Death Metal band, created by members of a million other bands that I won't even list. Kyle Severn of INCANTATION plays drums. This is a very typical modern Death Metal from the underground of the USA - horror stories in the lyrics, Rogga Jonahsson-style sound (THE GROTESQUERY etc.), cheerful character, an abundance of melodic fragments. Highly energetic stuff, but this is all too light-headed.
SLAUGHTBBATH / GRAVE DESECRATOR – Musica de nuestra muerte

An excellent 7-inch EP, which contains an exclusive track from both Chilean and Brazilian bands. Both turned out to be very powerful, but I didn't expect anything else from these guys. SLAUGHTBBATH and GRAVE DESECRATOR do not require additional recommendations.
SOLIPNOSIS – Síntesis silenciosa

A very unusual mini album from Chile. The music is primarily ancient black Speed Thrash Metal, but somehow ery unhealthily progressive and extreme, with a lot of atonal, unconventional and simply chaotic fragments. A stunning synthesis of the old school and everything that is its antipode. Imagine that MORTUARY DRAPE suddenly gone mad, and you'll understand what it's about. I think few people will like it, but I respect it for courage. Chile, as always, gives hell to everyone.
NOITILA – Langennut

The press release for this album is blatantly misleading. The album, they say, was recorded in a hut on the Finnish lakes on primitive equipment: instead of a bass drum, a chair with a leather seat was used, acoustics were recorded in the forest, only 3 microphones were used, and therefore the final sound leans towards ILDJARN, ULVER, ISENGARD, BATHORY, SATYRICON, BEHERIT and TULUS. I do not know, apparently Nordvis made a mistake and pressed something else, since "Langennut" is quite an ordinary modern record of fairly good quality, which vaguely resembles TULUS, but not all the other listed bands. If you want to know how music recorded in natural conditions sounds, listen to KRUK or even MOLOCH. Besides, there is very little to listen to here. The acoustic compositions are made in the traditional Nordvis style, which is good, but the metal here is completely banal and boring. The keyboard parts especially give me a strong desire to forget about NOITILA once and for all.

Unbelievably, impossibly heavy cyclonic Death Metal from Australia. The extremity of sound and here is at a level close to the highest possible; it's almost like Death Metal version of DEIPHAGO. Be sure to give it a listen, but don't break your spine!
