78th part of short reviews.

PESTILENTIAL SHADOWS – Revenant
Year of release: 2021
Label: Seance Records
Rating: 8,4 / 10

New album from serious Australians (members of DROWNING THE LIGHT, NAZXUL, ADVENT SORROW, TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE). I often notice that the best Australian albums sound completely European, and this one is no exception. And in this case, it's very close to me. The sound is in the vein of good Russian bands, the melody in places is very in the vein of Belarusian ones. The general feeling / mood is vivacity / sublimity. If you listened to Finnish AETHYRICK, you'll understand. If you want, you can also find references to the Scandinavian classics, although they are carefully veiled. A huge amount of work has been invested in each composition. These albums are not easy to write about, but very easy to listen to as the creative genius is usually obvious. You should give it a try. Just keep in mind that this is not evil music at all.

GENOCÍDIO – The Grave
Year of release: 2021
Label: Nuclear War Now! Productions
Rating: classics

Reissue of the eponymous EP of ancient Brazilians + bonus tracks. The recording was made in 1988, but feel free to subtract a few more years, because 1988 for Brazilians is like 1983 for Europeans. I won't waste time listing the similar bands; you should already know them. If you love the wild deeds of the youth of the old Latina Americans, be sure to listen.

POUNDER – Breaking the World
Year of release: 2021
Label: Shadow Kingdom Records
Rating: 5 / 10

Sterile Heavy Metal from USA. No.

CENOTAFIO – Larvae Tedeum Teratos
Year of release: 2019
Label: Blood Harvest (this release)
Rating: 6,8 / 10

Lead-heavy Black Death Metal from the beautiful country of Chile. The incessant rumble from the underworld, periodic rockfalls and ominous cries of the demons. Not really exciting, but big plus for fanaticism.

PHANTOM FIRE – The Bust of Beelzebub
Year of release: 2021
Label: Edged Circle Productions
Rating: 5 / 10

Pretty fast dark speed metal/rock with no clear purpose. Bassist of AETERNUS and GAAHL'S WYRD is on the vocals here, which already says a lot. Actually, he sounds similar to Gaahl. His weak husky voice is just right for moving, but aimless music.
