YSBRYD – Kraft

There are people who just can't sit still - maybe they have a lot of free time, maybe there's something else. The leader of the project with the wild name YSBRYD is just one of those. During his life, this chubby lad founded a bunch of formations with amazing names like CUM COVERED CRACK WHORE or DEAD BABY INCEST. He also participates in a number of lousy grindcore, hardcore and and thrash metal bands singing about social bullshit. But with YSBRYD for some reason he decided to touch something higher, smearing his face with corpsepaint and playing something in the vein of the modern pagan “Black” Metal with burzumic shade. The result is a typical German product - neat, high-quality, smoothly recorded (despite attempts to impart some dirt to the sound), with obligatory melancholy and acoustics - in general, everything is a carbon copy. You can listen to it, if you believe in the sincerity of the musician's convictions, but I cannot do this. I think the guy should just play grindcore.
MURDRYCK – Födelsen

Like if ysbyrd wasn't enough, now I have murdryck. This Swedish project (which celebrated its twentieth anniversary this year) once again proves the sad axiom of modernity - excellent design no longer means that the music will be the same. “Födelsen” is delightfully decorated inside and out, but the music on it is sad Scandinavian pop metal stuff from the same dirty breed that is not so good to praise it, and not so bad to scold it. The album does not cause any interest, and this is the worst of all. Template on the template. The sound of the guitars is disgustingly smooth, but those drums are simply awful with their "wood on wood" tapping.
ABYSSIC – High the Memory

ABYSSIC is a project of mainstream metal stars - members of SUSPERIA and SIRENIA, as well as a guy of FUNERAL. The album is really bottomless - not everyone will survive 77 minutes of symphonic doom death metal, even if the musicians try not to complicate the sound too much. Too much of everything happens here. It seems that every musician from the quintet plays a little bit, and together it becomes a real symphony performed by a full-fledged orchestra, and it takes a long time to understand what is happening. The music is not bad, but very tiring. Also it is felt that the music is in the first place here, and the lyrical themes is only an addition.
DIAVOLOS – You Lived Now Die

The project of several metal celebrities - participants and ex-participants of IMPALED NAZARENE, KAWIR, NIGHTFALL, THOU ART LORD, NERGAL, SATAN'S WRATH in which they decided to express their love for primitive satanic metal. Very cool album, recorded like in the 80's. Music in the vein of BATHORY, VENOM, NIFELHEIM, POSSESSED and other forefathers. I must add that there is some genuine devilry here; it is not just about hooliganism. Although songs like “Piss on Holy Water”, of course, give a portion of pure, uncomplicated fun.
DISCIPLES OF THE VOID – Disciples of the Void

Malignant Black Metal from the Finnish duo, which looks almost identical to MGŁA, but plays a completely different music. Straightforward, primitive and speedy material is basically very close to DARKTHRONE with their “Under a Funeral Moon”, but the difference is made by keyboard parts and large melodic fragments, giving the music some pathos. And the sound, of course, is much more modern. Interestingly, the album is summed up with a cover on BATHORY's “Home for Once Brave”, but not on some of their satanic songs. And this cover is one of the best of BATHORY covers that I heard. And I heard a fucking lot of them, believe me. In general, the album is extremely worthy and worthy of acquisition.
