Taking this opportunity, I bring my apologies to the management of Aeon of Horus (and at the same time to readers of Bagnik Zine) for the delay in reviewing this release. Fortunately or unfortunately, for the time that I mired in National Socialism, technical turmoil and the Football World Cup, "G.G.G." did not manage to get on the pages of the most fashionable magazines and online publications, so the review is still relevant.
This horned project is the brainchild of pretty well-known character from our underground scene who in this case works under the pseudonym Grand Omnicide Annihilation Terror And War in the company of the session member Evil Spells And Total Death. "G.G.G." (Goathorned Genocidal Gestapo) - an example of barbaric Black Metal that is still not very popular among krywian people. Natural born cashiers, merchandisers and other label lovers call this style "goat black metal". The attentive observer will immediately notice the cover of the "Inferno of Sacred Destruction" of the unsurpassed BLACK WITCHERY, which, to be sure, is a worthy landmark. From the same album of Americans, GOATHORNED draws inspiration, not trying, however, to engage in cloning. Curts in the direction of other fathers of style are also present - various rhythmic and compositional solutions, all traditional types of vocals. I note that the musician (s) prefers an exclusively destructive, devastating, dust-rubbing rage. Squelching debauchery with felting in the mud (a-la ARCHGOAT) is not observed. Apparently, the horned army must first complete the genocide, and then they can rape the surviving Christian pigs.
The credibility of the album is beaten by a strange “producer's” decision. Obviously, the original recording was powerful and quite legible, but for some reason it was muted. Considering that the album was released on cassette, it turns out quite badly - no matter how you turn the volume up, a third of the sound is still eaten up. I don't get it, why the hell... In fact, the decision “make it worse to be underground” is quite in the spirit of Aeon of Horus :) But I don’t think the label has anything to do with it. Has “Inferno of Sacred Destruction” been made worse by its killer sound? On the contrary, it brings the album to absolute limits, turning it into the embodiment of a total apocalypse, burning the face and ears with tongues of infernal flame. And for GOATHORNED, the war seems to be in the distance, and this weakens one of the best (if not the best) Belarusian records of 2018. However, let's rejoice that now there is such metal in the country, and DOOMSLAUGHTER will no longer have to drag his giant horns alone.
P.S.: Couple of the promo tracks was available at the label's official web site, but it's not functioning now for some reasons. Cassette release, made on pro tapes, is hand numbered and comes with an inlay with infernal lyrics and slipcase. Details on a video.
