Рэцэнзія: DZIED – Kazki z-pad šybienicy

Year: 2025
Label: self-release
Rating:

Here we have another case where I received, ahem, music that I don't understand and don't like in order to get feedback from an outsider. Well, there, you have it. DZIED is most likely created by the same guy who is behind folk synth TOPFHELM project (it sounds a bit like the old PRAGNAVIT could have turned out to be if Voist had sniffed glue and loved power electronics). DZIED is a darker entity: here we are offered a more fashionable Keller Synth.

In case you didn't know, this particular style, inadvertently invented by a drug addict from GRAUSAMKEIT, is now the most attractive to young people who were educated by memes, Tiktok, soundcloud rap, fake nostalgia for times they've never seen, “post-irony” and Minecraft. You can beat me with sticks for being grumy old man, but the degradation of boys and girls is really happening before our eyes. In the 80s and early 90s, teenagers created new iconic forms of metal music, in the mid-90s they saturated old genres with electronics, in the early 2000s they made metalcore and nu metal, closer to the 2010s they filled the Net with bedroom DS"BM", in the late 2010s they painstakingly copied LLN, and today, in the 2020s, they finally hit rock bottom with Keller Synth. If all of the above required at least some basic effort - to buy a guitar, to learn how to connect it to a laptop - then Keller Synth is a real gift for a teenager with attention deficit disorder. You take samples, generate covers with big hats and mushrooms in Midjourney, - and here's an album for you, or even two or three at once! An interview on the channel "Mayhem Quotes" and 15 seconds of fame are provided. Perhaps even the smelly fuck OLD NICK, who has done a lot to popularize the most shitty synth music, will pay attention to you.

The paradox is that Mikita, who is at least behind TOPFHELM, is already a pretty mature guy, and not some 15-year-old oaf. That's why I don't understand why he needs all this. About a half of "Kazki z-pad šybienicy“ is a typical Keller Synth stuff: a creepy mess of intentionally atonal synthesized ”guitars“ and "drums" with effervescent vocals and unintelligible sound, which, according to the author, was recorded through his grandfather's tape player. It doesn't make sense to sort something out here. Apparently, for a neophyte who entered Keller Synth and Tanzelcore with two legs at once, it sounds as intended: uncomfortable, scary, magical, and so on. To me, this sounds like a ridiculous attempt to play metal without having anything at hand except that very grandfather's tape player and a 7$ synthesizer from the discounter shop.

The second half of the material consists of something that really resembles music. It is obvious that this guy really knows how to write melodic, adequate sequences. But for some reason, he wastes his time on a meaningless style, which, as I am one hundred percent sure, has no future. If he had taken the same TOPFHELM and these fragments from DZIED, and re-recorded them as normal folk ambient with real instruments, it would have been a completely different story. There is a huge shortage of such music in Belarus right now. And it definitely doesn't need Keller Synth at all.

"Kazki z-pad šybienicy" was released in an edition of 15 copies on pro-tape with a high-quality J-card. There are no lyrics inside, but they are mostly audible. Everything is in most fashionable acid pink color. Details on a video. If there are perverts fans of Keller Synth among Bagnik Zine readers, support this project. If you buy something, then buy Belarusian!

P.S. To warn young people about destructive behavior, I attach below a photo of B.S.O.D., the father of Keller Synth, after another of his prison sentences. Look what this style does to people! It's not too late to come to your senses and turn to healthy, traditional things like Devil worship, Hitlerism, running on rails on suspension railway bridges... Think!
