Review: DECEASED – Demos from the Grave

Year of release: 2015
Label: Hells Headbangers Records
Rating: 8,4 / 10

The opinion that I had about DECEASED after listening to a number of albums seemed unshakably negative. Weak semi-thrash / semi-death stuff deprived of almost all the qualities of good extreme metal - there is nothing to catch here. Therefore, I was going to ignore all subsequent releases of the band, but then I heard "Demos from the Grave"...

This collection, containing 4 demo recordings from the 80s, was released by Hells Headbangers only in digital format and on analog media. The regular version came out on triple vinyl, and in a limited edition of the cassette tapes were added, and it was all packed in a huge COFFIN. Unlike the more mature (and boring) works of DECEASED, these demos are the most beautiful examples of the ancient Death Metal, in which young musicians put all their rage and speed. Noise and bombarding in the vein of the first cassettes of CANNIBAL CORPSE, POSSESSED, MANTAS / DEATH, NECROVORE, characteristic strained vocals, ineradicable pep, texts about various villains and horrors and other attributes of the era are here. And the older and rawer the record is, the better it turns out. I would not give a broken penny for nonsense like “Supernatural Addiction”, but these demos are completely different. Only death is real!
